Located in Historic Downtown Clinton, Tennessee sits one of East Tennessee's longest family ran businesses. Hoskins in the Flat is a Southern Specialty Shop specializing in Permanent Florals and all things Holiday. The Shop today has a vibe created almost 90 years ago.

In 1930 RC Hoskins opened his first drug store, Hoskins Drug Store, on Market Street in Clinton, TN. It was home to the latest medical remedies, sundries, a soda fountain and so much more. It was a staple in Clinton, and went on to be the anchor of 13 future drug stores.

Today Hoskins Drug Store is still thriving at its Main Street location. In the original location, Hoskins has changed what it sells and its name just a bit. Hoskins in the Flat was born from a term used by locals as to which store to meet at. We have always found the term“in the flat” charming, and so our name was formed!

Customers and friends of the shop find a comforting atmosphere where our floral originals and pieces of art are housed in original showcases and under the same tin ceiling that has remained unchanged since 1930.

Hoskins in the Flat is reminiscent of times gone by. In the shop you will find French Linens, Italian Pottery, Southern delicacies, and fine permanent florals perfect for everyday and holiday. We are honored to welcome in old and new faces. We love to hear stories of “I remember when…” We look forward to always preserving the past, while creating a beautiful new future for our gem of a shop on Market Street.
